Adrian Jackman was born in Te Kopuru, New Zealand in 1971. He graduated with a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from the Elam School of Fine Arts, Auckland University in 1997.
His work over the years has developed a distinctive language of formal abstraction with a strong use of flat colour and themes around the impact of technology on modern life. He has also recently returned to a surrealist landscape style, revisiting painterly techniques while exploring nineteen and twentieth century historical narratives.
Adrian's paintings are held in public, private and corporate collections across New Zealand and overseas, including: The Arts House Trust, The Sarjeant Gallery, Te Whare o Rehua Whanganui, Citibank Art Collection and Perpetual Guardian Trust.
He currently lives and works in Carterton, South Wairarapa, New Zealand.
